La Roseraie is a quaint but spacious old farm house – around 250 square meters - in the hamlet of Mirambeau. All modern comforts have been installed and one can now live comfortably within the charming old building and still appreciate its historic origins. The house is set high on a hill with a lovely view of meadows, sunflowers, and a little river.

There are 3 generous double bedrooms (one en suite), 2 modern bathrooms, a large lounge with open hearth, separate dining room, a spacious TV lounge and a newly appointed kitchen. Original beams stretch across the ceilings and many rooms feature exposed stone walls. The main living area opens out onto a generous covered terrace.

Set in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, Mirambeau seems lost in time but is in fact close to the key sights and attractions of Bordeaux, and the vineyards of St Emillion, Pomerol, Medoc, Graves and Sauternes. A few kilometers away are the hamlets of Bellefond and Romangne and within a 7 kilometer radius, the larger commercial towns of Rauzan, Frontenac and Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.

Although this little part of Bordeaux is an area virtually untouched by tourism, Mirambeau is within easy reach of shops and markets, prestigious wine chateaux and vineyards as well as many of the gourmet restaurants of the Gironde. The city of Bordeaux can be reached by car in 35 minutes.

The south west of France is famous for its local cuisine. You can enjoy a huge variety of seafood straight from the Atlantic – particular favorites are the oysters and black mussels from the Atlantic as well as squid and queen scallops. Duck is a specialty of the region. Foie gras, maigret and confit de canard are regularly on offer at many restaurants as well as that fabulous Bordeaux wine – red, white, rose or sparkling.

Nearby attractions include the world heritage site of St Emillion, the Dordogne valley, the beaches of Arcachon and Cognac for those who have an interest in something other than wine. For the energetic there are no less than 8 golf courses, facilities for sailing, swimming, rock climbing, abseiling, river cruises, horse riding and an extensive network of dedicated cycle tracks.

La Roseraie is situated not more than 60 minutes drive from both Bordeaux and Bergerac Airports where car hire is available. The nearest rail link is 30 minutes away at Libourne Station from where the TGV high speed rail link to Paris takes 3 hours 15 minutes. Car hire is also available at Libourne Station.

The journey by car from the north of France – Cherbourg, St Malo, Caen, Le Havre, or Dieppe – is by motorway and will take 7 to 9 hours.
